With dokin you can turn any element of your Google Sheet spreadsheet into variables that can be exported and added as content of your Slides presentation and Docs documents.

What type of variables can I create ?

You can create variables for a single spreadsheet Cell, or for a range of several cells (a table).

Once your variables are created, you will be able to insert each cell as text in all your Slides presentations or Docs documents. If you have created a Table, you can either insert each cell as text or the whole table.

How can I create a new variable ?

1 - Select the cell or the range of cells for which you want to create a variable in your spreadsheet. Once selected, click on the button “Add a variable”.

Select a cell or range of cells and click on "add a variable" to create a variable in your Google Sheets

2 - A modal appears.

Create variable modal on Dokin

2.1 - Give a name to your variable

Customise your variable

2.2 - You can modify manually the cell or the range you have selected. For example, if you want to create a new variable for the Cell A1, enter A1. If you want to create a new variable for the Range A1 to B4, enter A1:B4.

You can also automatically detect your selection by clicking on the “Update selection” button.

Select a new cell or range of cells in your spreadsheet and click on "update to selection" to change the cells you want to create a variable for

2.3 - By default, the selected sheet is the one you were on when you clicked on the button "Add a variable". To change this sheet, open the sheet on which you want to create the variable, and click on "Refresh selection".

Select a different sheet if you want your variable to be created on cells from one that is different from the current selection

2.4 - If the variable you want to create is a range, you can use the first row as a header and the first column as a header. This will allow you to filter more easily across the elements of your table whenever you need to add these to your Slides or Docs.

Select first row as Header and first column as Header to filter across data of your variable more easily when you need it

Congratulations, you have created your first variable. You can now connect a Slides presentation or Docs document to insert these.
